This is where you peel the next layer back. This is where you let your curiosity of the practice that heals you, teach you more about yourself than you ever thought possible. We learn more than the yoga books, we learn who we are as yogis.

Yin Yoga is a practice and a disciplined one at that. Nowadays, many of us think of Yin Yoga as laying around on pillows and sitting just on the edge of consciousness and sleep. However, that is actually a restorative form of the practice. Yin as it was originally taught, isn’t practiced with the plethora of props we often see in studios these days. Through this training you will:
learn the distinct difference between Yin Yoga and Yin Restorative
learn the history and origins of Yin Yoga, and its roots in traditional Chinese medicine, and its connection to Taoism and the philosophies of Yin and Yang.
learn the principles of yin yoga
understand connection tissue, joint anatomy & alignment, and fascia and meridians
learn common yin postures, how to sequence effective yin classes, and how to invite in props
learn mindfulness and breathing techniques
learn the role of energy in Yin Yoga in relation to the chakras and meridians
learn how to guide classes energetically with your voice and presence, and how to create a safe space

All sessions are held in person
Investment: $549
Friday 530-8pm
Saturday 9-6pm
Sunday 9-4pm
*Pre-requisite reading required. Books TBA prior to training
Join us for this full weekend of nourishing reading, in depth conversations, and self-inquiry in regards to the philosophy and ethics around yoga. This training is for both yoga teachers wanting to continue their education as well as every day practitioners that want to dive deeper into what yoga is outside of the physical practice. Here is what you can expect from this training:
Day 1: What does it mean to “live your yoga”? Through group discussion and reflection based on readings (tba), learn to deepen your own personal practice and ask yourself what it really means to be a yogi. Enjoy a thoughtfully curated practice woven from conversation points and a small self created project assignment. Required text will be announced to registered participants.
Day 2: The Sutras. Move through small group discussions, journaling/reflecting around Yoga Sutras (if you have taken a training with FSW, this Sutra book is NEW). We will also engage in conversations on how to approach teaching the material to others.
Day 3: Yamas & Niyamas discussions (new book if you have taken a FSW training previously), meditation practices, movement, conversation, and journaling.
